Ok, here's the deal. I'm going to NY for a weeks holiday and will be spending most of my time on my own. Whenever I do stuff like that I always take just the one album to listen to on my Ipod. That way, when I get home it always reminds me of that place I've just been. The problem is that I can't decide on which album to take as my soundtrack to NY. Any suggestions?

Why not buy an album (or albums) by a local NY band from a local NY record shop... that should remind you of where you've been.

Beck's album 'Odelay' reminds me of Colorado/the country, and Pavement's 'Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain' reminds me of Washington State. For NYC I'd reccomend you listen to Da Yoof, but if you think that's cliche then go for Interpol's 'Turn on the bright lights' or Public Enemy or something.

I was trying to resist taking a sy one, but Sister does really tempt me, i have to admit.
The three albums for morning, afternoon and night is a great idea. Any suggestions for three that fit those time slots?
