Im referering to the sludgy stockholm stuff not the more melodic gothenburg sound, It kind of relates to thurston's coments about black metal with bands who can barely play.
anyone else into it? ive been listening to karnarium alot lately. |

I don't know a lot about scandinavian metal music, except the famous song 'in the shadows' by the rasmus. there's a french song from 1988 who is 'sludgy' in my opinion. it's 'la ronde triste' by mylène farmer. Although the title is in French, the text is in English. The music is throbbing and lyrics evoke suicide and death (wikipedia)

I like Entombed a lot, but to me they gave up the death metal genre a long time ago (after Clandestine).
Then they turned, uh.., industrial/rock/metal (and better). |

Well... they turned to more a rock'n'rolly sound, which is clearly hearable in To Ride... |

Why has no one mentioned Meshuggah yet? After all, they've popularized the 8-string guitar. Can't get much sludgier than that...
