Yes, two of your favorite board butt buddies has decided to combine their best droniest drone to unleash one side of pure darkness and hell drone, and one side of pure brightness and harmonicized, time stretched, decaying light from the prism of the sun. A treat for you all...
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ACUDBB2X This will tentatively be on DREAM ROOT. No cover art yet -- someone feel free to do something. |

cool.
nice one derek. i listened to the latest robe album you posted the other day and it was exactly what i needed to hear in the sweltering heat to drown out the noise of healthy happy children playing outside my window. great stuff. |

Our next releases will be Forsaken on the noise not music label, a FLESH remaster on dystopiaq (remastered by the guy who masters kate bush and peter gabriel albums!), heavy rebirth on knife in the toaster (old album re-recorded, featuring sounds from kyle's daughter's BIRTH and life), and we're going in the studio this week to do a heavier album... for a secret label
Next year going to try to do a 2 or 3 week tour, also going to try to record with Albini. Thanks for the support nik! |

Haha, that's a really cool cover, actually, we'll use it on the inside...
I figured, Derek, you can fuck with that cover if you want. Kyle scanned his daughter's flower dress and made it black and white. That's the cover so far. |

I'm really really proud of this release, I think it turned out beautifully. Great side, Derek! It's like pygmalion era slowdive, as covered by mark mcguire, being played over basinskis of the lid. Kyle and me both think this our best split. I love the part on your side, in the first song, when everything drops out 4:33 in and it just leaves all the harmonic guitar stuff, it almost reminds me of Derek Bailey, how he'd always stop and just hit all these harmonics. Then when the drone comes back in, oh man... Just the idea of an all-harmonics song is really mindblowing. The next track is the most robotrip song ever made! Topnotch guitar playing, Derek -- what are you tuned to?
As for the Robe. side, track 2 has tape recorded sounds of the ocean ran through a pitchshifter.. I also sample the ocean on my sk-1 and play it through some effects in parts.... track 3 is my first and only saxophone playing attempt on a Robe. song. It sounds like a trombone, but notice there's no sliding. It's just a sax pitchshifted, I think I might have time stretched it a bit. Hope everyone here likes. Slavo, Pauly, Batreleaser, Glice, Dead-Air, al, etc... I know y'all want it! |
