Lots of good stuff, probably. Ten of those things, in fact.

But really, I started to write out a list, and the first thing I always put is T. Rex's Electric Warrior, for it is the best album ever. White Light/White Heat comes next, and then I think I should put some David Bowie on there too, so I go with Ziggy Stardust & Co. because I don't feel like changing that anytime soon. And my Sonic Youth entry switches between DDN and BMR depending on how doom and gloom I am feeling, or whether it's autumn or not. New York Dolls s/t, then Blank Generation, and about here is where I give up and turn the whole list into a Nick Cave affair. It's just easier that way.

I'll make my list as if this were the summer before my eighth grade year, hmm? Here goes:
Led Zeppelin: Houses of the Holy T. Rex: Electric Warrior David Bowie: The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust blah blah blah The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Are You Experienced? The Doors: s/t Bob Dylan: The Freewheelin' The Rolling Stones: Let It Bleed Led Zeppelin (again): Led Zeppelin I T. Rex (again): The Slider David Bowie (again): Hunky Dory Because Led Zeppelin, T. Rex, and David Bowie were the "big three." And life was so much easier back then when I only liked about 5 bands.

My friend's listing his personal top100 list, that's crazy and he admitted it's dumb because of the rate he buys music.
To me a top ten list is almost impossible task to do; I'm terrible at creating lists, and most of the records, I now listen to, I've been aware of only a few years. Many only one or one and a half. Give me a couple of years. So I just list shit that I like alot, not in any order, except for BMR, which is the greatest piece of music ever to reach my ears: Sonic Youth - Bad Moon Rising Nirvana - In Utero Bardo Pond - Lapsed or Dilate, I can't decide. maybe Dilate Slint - Spiderland The Birthday Party - Junkyard Rapeman - Two Nuns and a Pack Mule The Dead C - (I should listen to them again) Tusk or Clyma Est Mort Faust - IV Circle - Forest Gang of Four - Entertainment! |
