Friends, neighbors, douche bags, and others: I know I must not be the only one who enjoys a good spy movie. And this can include everything from Casino Royale and Mission Impossible to North by Northwest, Spy Who Came in From the Cold, and many others. So where am I going with this? I was listening to a Fugazi song, I think it's at the end of Repeater +3, that sounds very Mission Impossible-like, and it occured to me there are other songs that would be great on a spy movie soundtrack. What do you suggest?

ha. Just kidding. Seriously, though, rock songs used on spy movies sound wrong, since any distortion detracts from what you're watching, and it doesn't seem to work. Some stuff by Add N To X, Stereolab or Tortoise kind of fits in. I can't think of a particular one at the moment.

No, there's stuff that works. The past couple of days I've had moments where I've gone, "Oh, that would sound good on a spy movie soundtrack," but memory of what those songs are has slipped through my swiss-cheese brain. Plus I've had two beers, and that doesn't help.

No, I haven't homebrewed in 2 years. Too much fucking work. This afternoon's brew is Sierra Nevada's Torpedo Extra IPA Ale. 7.2 ABV. Not so strong that one pint has you crawling on the floor. But strong enough that after two you can't feel the end of your nose. And really yummy.
