It took me a long time to actually get into ladies and gentleman (almost two years or so), but finally I grew to like it a lot.
Spiritualized are supporting none other than Lenny Kravitz this weekend here. it's a huge arena rock show of course, and tickets are only about seven million euros. If spiritualized did a separate show at a smaller venue (without lenny kravitz) I'd be interested to see them. Other than music, the most interesting aspect of spiritualized is the emphasis they put on package design. http://www.creativereview.co.uk/crbl...or-each-other/ |

im not afraid to say this: best album by mr pierce ever.
everything weve seen on previous records; garage, psychedelia, gospel, blues, and more. the flow of the album is perfect, other spiritualized records however good i have found drag on too long, not this one.

I listened to it for the first time yesterday and I really liked it. Some of the songs sound way better than their recent output.

I saw them on Jools Holland and it was sort of gnarly, halfway thru the song sort of collapsed into shapeshifting improv territory...

this record gets better with every listen. im telling you, yhr flow is fucking perfect. 2-6 minute songs that just roll into one another, some beautiful arragements on this record too. pretty much a grand combination of everything good pierce has ever recorded.

Until recently I've only been familiar with Ladies and Gentleman. I just got some of their other stuff and I have to say their other stuff is pretty disappointing. That version of Lord Can You Hear Me When I Call? on Let it Come Down is fucking awful.
I haven't listened to too much of Songs in A&E yet. |

jason pierce is the most boring lyricist of all time, he has a vocabulary of about 30 or 40 words that he just rearranges into as many combinations as he can think of, and then starts again at the begining
