I'm... just... sending emails to my academic tutors and praying this doesnt clash with exam periods. Holy hell.

First it was Thurstons ATP last year that i had to miss for exams, and now it looks like this too
On the plus side, they might finally reissue their bleedin discography.

And I just got into them! And yes I am ashamed of ragging on them earlier. Too bad it's only for ATP. But here's hoping for a tour though I highly doubt it.

Sucks. Someone should convince them to tour. |

Even if it is just ATP, they will probably tour as well. So that makes the 3 greatest math rock bands active again: Slint, Chavez and now Polvo

Yeah, Chavez are generally considered to be Math Rock. They do have the multiple time signature things going on anyway, if not as much as Polvo and Slint.

Yes! The only way to get Polvo here is to buy it online.

Not sure I'd consider Polvo math rock, though I don't know what you'd call them. They kinda fit in with that Thinking Fellers / Truman's Water weird complex noise rock genre that has no description but is just ridiculously amazing. And Chavez are pretty good but not math rock. And I've never actually heard slint called math rock, I think they are supposedly the originators of what we now call "post-rock".
I don't really care about any of that, just saying. |

I bet they will, it happens: Rage toured after Coachella. Not many rage fans here though.

when i see "math" i kinda think on odd time signatures and that stuff, and chavez, i don't hear that a lot in them.
also, to me, they always seemed good but never great. rage against the machine are definitely one of the worse bands of all time, easily top ten. |
