Following yet another MBV thread, I figured I'd get started finding out what people's favourite album from the scene in question is.
For me, it isn't Loveless. It's Souvlaki by Slowdive - another favourite of a lot of boarders. It's a masterpiece. Anyone got any better ideas?

I think both Isn't Anything and Loveless are the best albums of the scene, short followed by Souvlaki and Pygmalion by Slowdive (Just For A Day is good but isn't as great, I mean without the bonus CD of the 2005 reissue, because it makes him as great too, with all these songs from the firsts EP)
Everything's Alright Forever by Boo Radleys is also great, Nowhere from Ride too. In young bands, my favorites are Amusement Parks On Fire and Experimental Aircraft |

Yeah 'shoegaze' is a crap name that doesn't fit many of the bands involved.
Album: A.R. Kane, "i" anyone? |

MBV - Loveless
and I really like this new band called LSD and the Search for God. Really great modern shoegaze. I've been listening to their EP a lot lately. |

I always use the term shoegaze to describe my bands music and no one ever knows what im talking about. I don't know if some people will hate me for saying this but what about Siamese Dream to be decribed as a shoegaze record?

No, I wouldn't call it that, but it does have very spacey sounding shoe-gazeish moments.
