Lovely. I was disappointed to miss El Nicho last year (I was specially interested in seeing Samara Lubelski and Marcia Bassett). Thankfully, documents such as this film by Patrick Danse do exist. The mexican label, Substrata., will be releasing a CD-R by Samara Lubelski as well (either recorded during that year, or as a consequence of that visit), or that's the rumor at least.
I love Patrick Danse's work. He captured one of my favorite interviews with Lasse Marhaug a few years back, when Lasse performed a mind-blowing performance for El Nicho Festival. I saw Patrick at this year's edition too, but he wasn't filming. I found out he had been documenting No Idea Festival 2016 in Austin, Texas, and made a documentary about Tim Barnes (Text of Light drummer) & Jeph Jerman. Some of that footage is online as a teaser to promote the release of Jerman•Barnes' album, "Versatile Ambience", which is out now on Idea Intermedia: https://www.facebook.com/tim.barnes....9369605016134/ EDIT: The teaser is also on Youtube, for those not on the facemook: https://youtu.be/BO4mznl4c54 "The whole documentary may make it to the internet in a few weeks time... for free, of course", I think I heard someone say. |
