I'm a Chelsea fan, I have been since about 1975. I didn't start going to matches regularly until about 1992 though, at which point we were still crap.
I quite miss the days when we were crap, actually. As nice as it is to see trophies being lifted, I miss the feeling of being thrilled to see us winning a match, rather than disappointed when we don't. Our football was much more enjoyable to watch in the mid-90s too, not machine-like in the way that it is now. Favourite ever player: Gianfranco Zola - how could it be anyone else? |

i support Manchester United, you may have noticed some rivalry between myself and sonicl on this topic, this is because i basically think his team is a pile of stinking dog shit and i can, with hand on heart, say that he thinks the very same about my team, i have supported Man Utd all my life, this may sound quite funny you may think what with me been from ireland and having such a deep interest in english football, the answer to this is quite simple... republic of Ireland-2 San Marino-1 (i.e. there are no fuckin soccer players in ireland) although this wasnt always the case.. (i.e. Roy Keane, irish international and player/captain of Man Utd 93-05) but to support another team in my family would have ment you been aborted.
so i have been a Utd fan since i was a chappie, didnt start going to regular matches until about 1999 though, at which point we were the kings of europe i dont miss the day when we were crap (cuz we never were) actually, As nice as it is to see trophies being lifted, i love the feeling of being thrilled to see us winning a match, rather than disappointed when we dont (which aint too ofen) Our football is always enjoyable to watch no matter what year, we are almost like a football machine. Favorite ever player: Eric Cantona - how could it be anyone else? (You must dribble some Reputation around before passing it to sonicl again)

Outside of Manchester United Fans, MUFC are universally hated by all. They are a team of arrogant spice-boy wankers. Some of them are very talented, but they ruin it by being dickheads.
Also, your favorite player was Cantona? Didn't he kick a fan in the face? |

Splendid choice. I'm not really dedicated, but I also favour Manchester City. We live very close to Tranmere Rovers' ground, so we keep an eye on them, and I always track Linfield's progress in the Northern Irish league because of family support. Apart from that I always look for Chester City and Preston North End to do well.

Eric Cantona kicked a fan (who was verbally abusive to him) in the chest, not the face as Danny Himself stated so to sum up.... Outside of Manchester United fans, MUFC are universally hated by all Liverpool Fans. Liverpool Fans think they are a team of arrogant spice-boy wankers, All of them are very talented and Liverpool fans cant seen to accept this Liverpool players much rather bash each other with their "spice-boy" golf clubs these days anyways. good win last night by the way.

Although I like you much, fishmonkey, I have to admit that I'm a Liverpool fan too. I follow Premiership as much as possible being a guy from Central Europe (TV, Internet) and my interest in Liverpool is basically because I spent some time in that city and had many many conversations with diehard fans of this team. Man, English footbal supporters can be devoted as hell.
And by the way, Steven Gerrard looks like a top notch fella (in a non-sexual way). And yesterday they played a great game.

i'm portuguese, so yeah,
i'm a supporter of SL Benfica. one of the kings of europe in the 60's, my club have been suffering several economical crisis but we're finnaly returning to the good days. benfica favourite ever player: excluding Eusebio, because i never saw him play, i pick Rui Costa. S.L. Benfica is since 2006, the club with the most associates (registered paying supporters) in the world. |
