Seems reasonable, though just a window dressing as Nirvana becomes "classic rock" and an entire new generation discovers some of the controversies. Obviously Tom Grant was a sleaze-ball, and I don't buy for a second 99% of his arguments, but there is one thing, if the premise of Dead Men Don't Pull Triggers is correct, and Kurt Cobain did indeed have in instantly incapacitating level of heroin in his system, then there is definitely evidence of foul play of some kind. Murder? Not necessarily. The statistics were telling, the overwhelming majority of dead bodies found in the state of Washington with even a sizable fraction of the blood morphine levels stated to be found in the body of Kurt Cobain not only died of overdoses, but were most frequently found with needles still in their arms.. How does such folks then shoot themselves?
The data and conversion rates could be wrong. It could all be a misunderstanding. Shit, Kurt could have even been a rare breed of functional addicts whose system could have tolerated such high doses. However, all signs aside from the shotgun blast to the head are typical of "golden shot" intentional overdoses. Kurt fit the bill by every definition, and many addicts take this route to end their lives. If Kurt really did have a lethal dose? Then what..

This was a rumor. The case was not reopened. All that happened was several rolls of undeveloped film were dug up and developed. Two of them have already been released...just drug paraphernalia. Still eerie in a way but whatever.

Hay if Gary Webb can commit suicide by shooting himself twice in the head, certainly Cobain could kill himself while passed out on dope, it makes perfect sense and anyone who think differently must be some kind of tin foil hat conspiracy theorist. He was not killed by certain people for his millions of dollars, we know that is a crackpot theory, people never kill other people for vast amounts of wealth; and he certainly was not killed because he was a strong influence over millions of young people and might have voiced an opinion that wasn't provided by his PR or corporate controllers; no one has ever been killed for that reason by the State cointelpro cough cough cough.

Had never heard of Gary Webb. Now I have.
A friend's grandfather committed suicide. He took some pills, and, as he really wanted to leave this world, he went to the river, slipped in it. To make sure. I have never ODed, nor shot myself in the head. Neither have I sampled my blood on a hourly basis to check it. I still believe he is dead and that his music is good. And at the same time, I still believe that people in power don't want me to have a cigar with them (mostly because they don't know me). |

You're crazy, while that and all these fucking depressive statues are so terrible that Kurt would laugh, Unplugged is probably the single best Nirvana performance ever recorded.. It had talent, originality, humble obscurity yet balanced with all the "radio hits", showcased new material that Kurt personally liked, involved friends and gave them a brief spotlight appearance, and also demonstrated that sincere fun that Nirvana always seemed to have and which made Kurt's suicide note all the more surprising. Unplugged is an epic record, top-10 all time, any genre, any era, any band, period.
