I always wondered that. I've seen it written both ways but I wonder if it's written Alan when some journo sees Anla written down and assumes it's a spelling mistake.

I've never been too sure of that myself as i've read his name spelled also as Alan a while ago.It's the same sort of thing that happens with mine and the 'e' at the end.People assume that i can't spell my own name and add an 'l' to it so that it becomes a girl's name.Anyway, with Richard Thomas also presenting,it should be a good one.
