i met a truck driver from idaho once...he was super friendly and told stories about coming home and finding his daughters friends naked in the pool...then he said somethign about a sick fair once a year in idaho that we should check out

it is hard. For some reason, most people don't seem to trust a person who will not drink, which is flat out STUPID, but it seems to be the case.
It takes me a while to break through to them, and to get them to let their guard down around me. Once they get over the whole "he is not drinking he must be a narc or a psycho" thing then they ease up and everyone has a great time. why is it that people do not trust someone who either cannot or does not want to inbibe poison?

it's probably because alcohol has become such a part of life for adults, it's something you're supposed to find interesting as a kid, it's a part o many adult rituals (toasting champagne on new year's eve or during celebrations and stuff like that). people who don't join in these rituals seem to set themselves apart from the norm, which is poison.
