maroon is purple tinged with a bit of red
whereas burgundy is red tinged with a bit of purple

it all gets very confusing somewhere along the line

I don't really have a favourite.Sorry to disappoint. But I suppose since colour is just light, I might go for something like X-Ray or UV. I know these aren't technically colours, but it's the closest thing to an answer to this question, than you'll get from me.

Forest Green.

Also happens to be my mother's favorite color. I grew up most literally on forest green carpeting.
