Does anybody know a place where I could see how much the various SY vinyl LPs and singles are worth? I want to start looking for SY vinyl in used record stores. I have already come across some but have hesitated because they seemed a bit pricey. Can anyone give me approximate values of what they might be worth?
Thanks |

Just go to http://www.gemm.com and look at the prices being charged by reputable sellers (ones with 4 or 5 stars); that is a great indicator of market value. They have search filters, so you can just look for vinyl. If you select "use classic result format," it's a LOT easier to read. http://www.musicstack.com is very good too, and easier to use than gemm.
http://www.popsike.com is a good site which lists completed auctions, so you can see how much certain items have fetched on ebay or other auction sites, but gemm and musicstack tend to be better indicators of real market value in my experience. |

the price you pay really depends on timing. i've seen things go for upwards or 80 usd and later seen the same items go for 20 bucks. pick your battles when it comes to record shopping.

Awesome. Thanks so much for the responses. I am always curious how the record shops know what to price things at. Oviously they must know about thier value and scarcity but sometimes I think they just make random outrageous guesses. These sites should help a lot though!
