I recently read that in the 90s Bon Jovi was so pissed off at not having any commercial success in France (contrary to many other countries) that he harassed his record company into getting massive promotion so as to top the French charts, which finally proved successful.

comparing bon jovi and guns'n'roses is like comparing sonic youth to good charlotte. guns'n'roses changed an era of rock the same way nirvana did.

actually, guns n' roses importance stems from them being the last rock band of it's class, going back to the stones, motörhead, the stooges, the dolls; swaggering drugged out songwriter rock stars the media loves to satanize and critics hate.

still, i like them because their songs were amazing.
