God, there can be only so much unintentional irony in the world.

This isn't the first one, there was one called Nowcore! quite a few years back with Unwound on it. I'd never bothered to look it up until right this minute though. I heard about it from Justin back when I was hanging out with him in Oly one night and talking about K-tel, and he told me he was on a K-tel comp.

This makes me sick. Or it's the alcohol. I'm not too sure.

I'm sure stuff like this will be happening more and more.
"Indie" bands like Spoon, The Decemberists, Sonic Youth, and Modest Mouse sell tons of records, it only makes sense for industry to co-opt it. There are so many new wave type bands in the indie rock scene right now, I'm sure at least a few more will end up being signed and marketed like the Killers were. |

Does Feeder count as an indie band as Echo seem to market them as such

ADA Distribution is an arm of the Warner group. So much for 'indie', eh?

According to an article that was on the newspaper a couple of weeks ago, they expect record shop sales to fall down by 73% within the next year or so. This kind of compilation will be more the norm as more and more people are getting accustomed to buying tracks that they like, rather than an entire album of songs that they might not want to listen to.
