The thing with cricket is, once you get the rules (which are actually pretty simple) and you sit down to watch a whole day's play you become entirely entrenched. Those moments where nothing's happened and then suddenly the turn on the ball becomes a wicket before lunch - those are among the best (or worst, if it's one of those Australian bastards taking Freddy) moments in life.

I really got into watching cricket after seeing Australia v Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. As Glice says, it's the often gentle nature mixed with sudden bursts of activity that I like. Much better than watching a bunch of hugely overpaid clothes horses boot a football around.

Same. I cant wait to see them this summer, it will be my first boredoms show as well, and im hoping that its going to be the "religious" experience everyone says it is.
