no doubt was the first band I ever bought a record for other then Nirvana. sixth grade. tragic kingdom was unbelievably popular, and I think that for the time they deserved it.

ohh, i hardly like gwen solo, most of the songs are hyper annoying. this one time i went to a club with my lady friend and a bunch of her/our friends after seeing judas priest was the only time i enjoyed hollaback girl.
and no, sorry, but amy winehouse can shut the hell up, she's annoying and prefabricated, crap crap crap; at least lilly allen's songs are well written. ghostface has a lot of explaining to do. |

Well, at least it's nice to see that everyone agrees on their hatred for Amy Winehouse
And I'm sorry Danny, but the first time I saw Regina Spektor's 'Fidelity' video, I thought... Tori Amos? And I've never even liked Tori Amos...so it wasn't a good thing. |

You don't have to apologize. We all have our own opinions. At the end of the day, as long as I like something I don't really mind if it gets badly recieved anywhere else.
It's a shame, though. |

yeah. regina spektor may hold a note, but she doesn't have a voice of her own. 'fidelity' sounds like a feist song gone bad. and sure, amy may look like a crackwhore, but she can sing the pants off most anyone these days.

I like wind it up coz it sounds like a m.i.a. song. Ha ha. I don't like that much no doubt or gwen stefani, but some of the singles I heard trough the years are surely nice pop songs well written and produced. Amy winehouse can sing, her albums have a couple good songs but the whole mood and "feel" are a bit too prefabricated. Regina Spektor isn't too bad, but I don't feel much "deepness" in what she sings. I think her records came out before feist's debut, by the way. Now, what's the name of Ash's (ex?) guitarist? I heard she did a nice solo album. And what about joss stone? Gah!
Lily Allen's album is a great pop album with amazing arrangments. My two cents. Sorry for my lak of knowledge on the main subject of the thread.

In my opinion Regina Spektor was good until the new record which is flat and commercial. |

To stick to the topic I've always hated No Doubt.

Gwen Stefani is actually one of my pet hates. You could tell from the beginning that she'd be one of those success-at-all-costs types, She's not even demonic in an interesting way. The lady Macbeth of the food court.
