i've just been watching later with jools holland and was i surprised to see nels cline on stage w/ wilco in jools' introduction.
thought i'd let the UK boardies know about this one!

Ive gone off Later recently, i dont know if its due to the general lack of good "indie" music thats on there, but i remember when The Arcade Fire were first on there and it absolutely blew me away. Hasnt been very good so far this run but who knows.

^^^^yeah but some times a gem comeson like grinderman last week.....
forgot about this show, lcd soundsystem were on it too right??? the new wilco album is very dissapointing at best. i have only managed to sit through 5 tracks so far without reaching for the off button..... |

yeah, i was dissapointed with wilco when watching them last night.
i was expecting something innovative, or at the very least, interesting, due to nels' involvement, however they seemed like your bog standard alt. country group. the only reason i kept watching was that i guess i still had a faint spark of hope that nels was going to do something interesting with his guitar but it was not to be.,

I haven't been following Jools Holland this season. Last season was quite unimpressive. It seems he's pandering to an NME audience these days.. Razorshite, The Kooks, etc..
I didn't even think to watch it last night. Bummer. |

Yeah i can see why people hate Jools himself, i loved when The Fall were on a couple of years ago and Mark E Smith apparently put a "no Boogie-woogie" clause in the contract to ensure he wouldnt start to jam on the piano.
