im going to give you this. "she's so heavy" is pretty fucking heavy. heavier than boris or sunn or any other tribute band. but still, it's no "public castration is a good idea"...

Swans live in the 80s were insanely heavy. I've heard bands maybe as loud (Loop, MBV, Electric Wizard) but Swans had a power to their volume that I still think hasn't been equalled yet.

first of, painkiiller's drummer is mick harris, and was the drummer for napalm death, completely different band than nuclear assault.
second of all, my favorite sword heaven album is that tour cd-r they did, sacred door. third of all, yeah, heavy music doesn't always mean distorted anything, one of the heaviest, to me, is lift yr skinny fists like antenna to heaven by gy!be, keith fullerton whitman is heavy as shit too. but heaviest band, i'll have to go with the metal music machine-era lineup of jazkamer. |

really? ill listen to it again. for some reason it never found heavy rotation around here. one side of a 7" always seemed too short for them (that new "piles" 7" is one track spread over 2 sides... and still just an excerpt of the og track). although that "chainsaws" track they have is prob only 3 min and really kicks ass... but its the only "pop song" structured thing ive heard them do. despite loving their 3"s so much, ive mostly listened to the split 12" w/ 16 bitch pile up and the 3-way split 2x12" w/Rl Stein & ??? on breathmint... but there is a bit of a vinyl preference in our house. |

that's the one that turned me to sword heaven.
i've only heard that 7", sacred door, beatings and the split with 16bpu, been meaning to pick up the 3" on apop for a long time, though; and the new 7" on bloodlust! |

id say that the split 12" w/ lambsbread is better than the 7".. or a better deal $$$ wise. their tracks on the 3xLP i put out are the same as the beatings cdr, but mastered by pete swanson of yellow swans. |

so, heavier and noisier?
i would really like the 3xlp you put out, it's $30 for me and i'm already going to be subscribing to your tape club, so if you still have some left in the next month or so, i'll be getting it. i'll look into the split with lambsbread. |
