Sonic Youth, I have about 20 items. Not too many, but I'll easily have 50 by the end of the summer

Haha...Yeah. They were my first musical obsession, when I was in Junior High. I was into prog and 70's rock before I discovered alternative/indie.

i like king crimson a whole lot but i'm very much a newbie to them, i have one album, one official bootleg (burnt) and like three boots.
i'm also getting into 70's era yes. i have nothing against good prog i've heard some songs from the lamb lies down on broadway and other early genesis songs, i can say i like them. the latter stuff...let's just say it's not my style at all |

I'm probably the biggest Gabriel-era Genesis fan on the board, as far as I can tell. But yeah, it was a phase I went through when I first started listening to rock music--entertaining stuff, but a let down for me ultimately. I don't listen to it much anymore. I have all of the albums, but I don't have any bootlegs or anything. I'm not very interested in live concert recordings of any band.... |

I like Genesis up to a point. Duke (1980) is their last good album, IMO. I still have some of the later stuff (but not all) on cassette, from long ago.
The Lamb is one of my all-time favorite albums. Of Crimson, my favorites are probably Red, and the 80's albums Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair. I don't care much for the recent stuff, except I do like the Projeckts box set. I'm really more of a Fripp fan. I recommend Robert Fripp's album of Frippertronics called Let the Power Fall, and his collaborations with Brian Eno. I like League of Gentlemen, but I prefer the version that is on vinyl, as it has the female vocals that Fripp edited out for the CD version. Here is what I own from them: 1 King CrimsonRed (1974) Vinyl2 King CrimsonDiscipline (1981) Vinyl3 King CrimsonBeat (1982) Vinyl4 King CrimsonThree of a Perfect Pair (1984) Vinyl5 King CrimsonThree of a Perfect Pair: Live in Japan (1985) VHS6 King CrimsonFrame By Frame [4CD Box] (1991) CD7 King CrimsonThe Great Deceiver - Live 1973-1974 (1992) CD8 King CrimsonVrooom (1994) CD9 King CrimsonB'Boom (1995) CD10 King CrimsonThe Noise: Live At Frejus 1982 (video) (1997) VHS11 King CrimsonThe ProjeKcts (1999) CD

that's a great collection of crimson/fripp stuff. the official boot i was talking about is this: King CrimsonB'Boom (1995)
you are also probably the only person i know who prefer the 80's crimson as opposed to the 70's or the 90's/00's eras |

Nirvana: I've heard most of their stuff here and there and I like it, but I've never wanted to buy an album or anything. I think I missed the boat and now it's too late.
