I have Chutes Too Narrow. One of my friends burned it for me. I haven't listened to it though. I might purchase this new one if I like Chutes...

The new album is good, but i don't have the same connection to it as I do with the first two albums. It's missing something, but its still a decent album by today's indie music standards.

I wasn't the biggest fan of it. It's an ok record. Not as good as Chutes Too Narrow and not nearly as good as Oh, Inverted World.

big shin's fan. i've been listening to it quite a bit, breaking it in in the car, and its good, but not as immediately catching as their first two. Still, there are some great tunes. i would say they're experimenting more with effected sounds on intruments and studio tricks than the other 2.

well, it's less melodic than their past stuff, and that's why i'm digging it; i would be shit as hell if they went on with the same style as chutes and inverted world.

i wasn't sold when i heard phantom limb, but i'm listening to it on their myspace page now, and i'm loving it. and i can't believe they have the number 2 album in the country. that's impressive and incredible, i think. and it will be impossible to get tix to see them now, i'm sure. hahah

That dude was so scared when I saw them open up for Modest Mouse back in 2000.....I thought he was going to have a nervous breakdown.
They're pretty good.....Caring is Creepy is a great song.

Depending on whether you like chutes over inveted world will have a lot to do with how well this album is received by you. I mean if you think chutes is better than inverted, then you probably won't like this album too much, then again I hate to typecast people's musical tastes, so don't take my word for it, give it a listen and then listen some more. I think everyneurotic summed it up by saying that its less melodic and a step forward for them.

I have Chutes Too Narrow and I didn't really like it all that much. I do like the two songs they have on the Garden State soundtrack though (New Slang & Caring Is Creepy) Everything else I've heard just doesn't work for me.

Oh, don't get your hopes up too much. It's still very mediocre. It's just less boring and average than Chutes or OIW.
