note/scale colors
i guess this is too subjective, but it's also interesting i think. C - black D - dark purple (also Dmin) E - yellow (gold) F - purple or grey, again (perhaps from the Dmin chord) G - green A - red ( I also picture the Amin scale as red; Cmaj is blue) B - brown Sol# - some sort of earth color, I connect it w/ Mi-maj so do you have any color-note relations? |

I don't associate any colors with notes or chords.
It doesn't make sense to me in an equal tempered system. Check out Scriabin, though. |

I have associated colors with letters because of these rainbow blocks I had as a baby.
A - red, B - orange, C - yellow, D - green, E - blue, F - purple, G - red So I guess it would be the same with notes. I'd probably see the G note as being more of a burgundy color and the A note more of a fire engine red. Maybe. I don't think by hearing these notes that I would pick a particular color... same with chords. |

I agree with E and A. I always associate songs with colors.

Synaethesia. I suspect those for whom coloursounds makes sense have mild synaesthesia. Which is a good thing to have. But I don't have it.
*Edit: I should've read the link first...

Interesting topic.
I don't think I can associate colors with notes. |

I think I read that synaesthesia often occurs to manic-depressed people, I don't know if that's true.

when I play I usually like most all the warm and violent colors.
so I mainly use slack tunings then I always try to be tuned on colors even because I dont know too much about conventional music. |

Yeah so do i. Like the song "i talk to the wind" by king crimson, makes me think of a dripping bluey/purple across a picture of a woman with very long dark hair, tied round, sitting cross legged in a field of long green grass, with a guitar and a white see thru robe, and the sun beaming. Thats just a mental image i get whenever i lisen to it.
