Won't you come out to play?
http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=148 Album:The White AlbumDate:1968Lyrics:click Songfacts:While Mia Farrow inspired such men as Andre Previn,Frank Sinatra and Woody Allen, her sister Prudence left her mark on John Lennon.According to Nancy de Herrera's book,All You Need Is Love,Prudence metTheBeatles on a spiritual retreat with the Maharishi in India, which she attended with Mia.WhenPrudence, suffering depression, confined herself to her room, Lennon wrote this hoping to cheer her up.It did.Prudence Farrow wanted to "Reach God quicker than anyone else,"according to John Lennon. She would lock herself in her room trying to meditate for hoursandhours. From A Hard Day's Write,by SteveTurner:"At the end of the demo version of Dear Prudence,John continues playing guitar and says:'No one was to know that soonerorlater she was to go completely berserk, under the care of MaharishiMaheshYogi. All the people around were very worried about the girl because she was going insane. So,we sang to her.'Ringo had left the group as the White Album sessions got very tense,so PaulMcCartney played drums. When Ringo came back a short time later, there were flowers on his drum kit welcoming him back. The guitars were overdubbed 6 or 7 times.JohnLennon's handwritten lyrics were auctioned off for almost 9,750 GBP in 1987.in 1987.Lennon considered this one of his favourites.Siouxsie AndThe Banshees covered this in 1983. Anyone read David Quantick's book 'Revolution: The making of The Beatles' White Album'? Its quite intresting but Quantick has the most annoying habit of presenting his opinions as fact.

I need to read it. It's my favorite album, double or not.
I've got a ridiculous amount of alternate versions from the White Album though. I once shared a 4-cd compilation of them from various bootlegs. I would be sweet if someone that got that from me could pay it back in kind right now. I see that porkmarras is showing his ass again and even more so than usual. I mean what does it mean when someone badmouths The Beatles and sings the praises of shit like (insert crap performer(s) here) & Justin Timberlake? |

Please excuse my insensitivity, but we're clearly dealing with a headcase here, folks.
I'll kindly agree to disagree and cease and desist. |

Yeah The White Album is my favourite Beatles album (and as such in my top 5 albums probebly). Whenever you think you're getting good at writing songs and composing you put The White Album on and get instantly put in your place. I would also like to take this oppotunity to profess my love for the wonderful Yoko One who presided over the insane and brilliant 'Revolution 9'
