I'm curious, though MBV were never my favorite band of that era to begin with (saw them all, and both Ride and Slowdive kicked MBV's ass live. Verve were unstoppable in the "A Storm In Heaven" era as well).

I'm sure it will be meticulous and show effort, and be worth hearing.
I don't think it will have aged any worse than GYBE's sidelong crescendos served up with a side of insufferable self-righteousness.

they finished mastering it on the 21st i believe. i'm really excited. i doubt anyone expects it to be as good as loveless, but it should be a good listen nonetheless.

Yeah Kevin said that last night at the gig. The sound at the venue was atrocious though, I think it was the worst time I have seen them. New song sounded good though. Also Thurston and J mascis were there, spoke to Thurston for a bit at the bar.

beautiful song, although apparently (and thankfully) not representative of the album's sound as a whole. it is by all accounts as extreme as has been speculated, this information coming from not only Shields but Debbie, Colm, Bilinda, the engineer and Douglas Hart.

but according to the forum they did plan for a server crash in advance.

so hopefully they have just briefly taken down the site and are soon to reup it.
