anyone heard of these guys? courtis is this argentinian shaman-like dude in a poncho wielding his guitar around in some sort of abstract sonic incantation. culver is an english chap creating drones from modulated keyboard sounds. i went to see them live at silverknowes tea room, just off the beach, last night. it was totally surreal, watching this shit at dusk in a little space with glass walls. i got a call literally half an hour before it was starting so just jumped in my car and turned up...

I have the Culver/Courtis split on riotseason which is pretty nice. I noticed they were playing with Volcano the Bear in Leicester soon but I don't live there anymore.....fuck!
Courtis used to be in The Reynols and Culvers real name is Lee Stokoe or something and he's done stuff with Ashtray Navigations I think....released something on Betley Welcomes Careful Drivers at least... That's all I know about them pretty much. |
