Mexicans and Salvorans may mutually eat tacos, but they don't get alone.

ps: you may have heard, I am a race-traitor, and I'm hongree like a muthafucka.

Ask me what I had for dinner last night. I bet it's tacos.

EVOLghost 11.29.2012 06:03 PM

You too? Actually,wait, no, last night I had Pini Chana curried chick peas, some rice and a samosa.

Samosas are also the perfect 11:30 PM food.

Dude. I already said that in public, I just said it again to you in private since apparently you are good at science, but terrible at reading comprehension. So I will say it a third time, I have NEVER misquoted you, period. Did you read that? Perhaps you may need to read it again, let me help you. I D-i-d N-o-t M-i-s-q-u-o-t-e Y-o-u..

Yes, coffee was never anything good, it was just part of life. Donuts on the other hand, have never ceased to be anything short of incredible. In regards to coffee, now, it is a good time to be a coffee snob

oh yeah, i read that earlier. good for them. me i no longer drink coffee, i've become a tea fiend. why? it's better for the mind--happy where coffee is brutal. gimme a good quality ceylon any day over pretty much anything else. or some fresh-tasting sencha, such a good fucking brew, golden in every sense.

Years ago for whatever reason my mother & I put a roast chicken in the oven & it wasn't done til midnight. When it was ready we eschewed the formal eating conditions & ate it with our hands right out of the pan.

One of my best food related memories.

Rob Instigator 11.30.2012 08:58 AM

roasted chicken...

we cooked a roasted turkey so fucking amazing for thanksfgiving.

I like to cook french toast for my wife at 23:00 hours sometimes. it is delicious!

floatingslowly 11.30.2012 10:26 AM

I can't eat at 11pm. It'd make me fat like a motherfucker. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I don't want my family's (fat) curse anymore than I have to.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 11.30.2012 12:55 PM

Another late night food story. Me and a few buddies were at the bar. I suggest pancakes. We go to my house and have pancakes & beer. It was awesome.

Tilapia Weyland:

sprinkle fresh tilapia fillet with natural sea salt and wait until the salt is no longer visible and the flesh glistens;

melt butter in skillet over LOW flame (note: do NOT sauté!);

dredge fillet in all-purpose flour, shaking off excess, and place in skillet;

sprinkle with cracked black pepper, garlic powder, and a squeeze from the heels of a sliced orange ("heels" meaning, when you're slicing an orange into 1/4 inch slices, the end pieces that are left that don't contain all that much flesh);

flip over when the opaque zone of the fish's flesh has climbed up to past the halfway point of the thickest part of the fillet, and then continue frying until, very soon after the flip (possibly less than a minute), the sound in your skillet becomes loud (i.e., the hot butter is no longer cooking the flesh but has begun to sear the outside);

IMMEDIATELY plate, and serve with pressed organic apple juice and buttered dinner rolls!

:cool:

Thanks, I am going to make this (at a reasonable dinner hour).

I appreciate the detailed instructions as I feel that I am terrible at cooking fish intuitively.

Rob Instigator 11.30.2012 01:52 PM

that does sound tasty

Rob Instigator 11.30.2012 01:52 PM

BTW, I am gonna start a band called SOUND TASTY. dibs

i have burnt down all my cooking things, pots, thankfully not my house, by trying to cook smth while still drunk at 7 in the morning. hope this doesnt count.

i m such a downer for this thread, because i have nothing to cook with. only pasta and a small old pot that has survived my above attempts, or that thing i m doing lately: parmesane, olive oil and toasted bread.

no worries, i take food from my mother, but i really cant wait to go and buy few things.
