The question is not what Rhys Chatham should you get, but what Rhys Chatham CAN you get. If you want guitar stuff, Die Donnergotterer (I've spelt that wrong I know, but I can't be bothered to check the proper spelling) is good, and so is the Table of the Elements boxset, but the first is out of print (I think) and the second is expensive. There was a single CD best-of (Compendium) distilled from the box set, but I have a feeling that's not all that widely available. If you want trumpet stuff, the NEON cd single is good, and so is the one that followed it (Septile). The CD on Wire Editions (Hard Edge) I'm not keen on.

i downloaded something and i didnt like it, i cant remember which i got as i trashed it for harddrive space. i kinda forgot all him after. im sure theres loads of good stuff, but to be honest, im swamped in music at the moment. i feel like i dont put the time into new music like i used to. itll help when i get a walkman. my md player refuses to record so im stuck listening to all the stuff i already know. |
