Tough one. They're always mentioned together because of their respective muliti-guitar works, but they're really working in quite different disciplines. Branca comes from a much more rock background, while Chatham is more minimalist classical. Branca kicks more ass, but Chatham's work covers a wider range (gongs / guitar / trumpet).
Probably Chatham. |

Tough one indeed, but I'd probably go for Branca.

both because they work different characters of sound (if we consider only their multiguitar work).

it's hard but i'd say chatham for the sheer diversity of his stuff. his works for piano are amazing. but it is extremely difficult, if i was listening to the ascention right now it would probably make me say branca but there we go.

Haven't heard enough of either, but from what I've heard, I'd say Chatham. Guitar Trio and Die Donnergotter are both great.

Chatham's new record is really, really good (and not at all massed guitar). Arguably better than his guitar stuff.
