I am! You should join us for a few brews at the show. We're just going on Sunday since $60 / day is fucking expensive

Actually that is what I was looking into. How much are the one-day tickets?

They're $65 or so, or $120 for the weekend. I'm just going the SY day since two days would ride the wallet up a little too much

Not bad, via rail is awesome for cross-Canada for longer distances. Beats greyhound by a LONG SHOT

I am just thinking that SY will play a greatest hits set. They only have like 50 mins. So it is going to be worth it?
I'd imagine Brooklyn will have a longer, deeper set list. RanaldoNecro

What a sick-ass show! Caught all of Sonic Youth and Devo on videotape (and Pavement the day before)! Unfortunately I had to miss the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion because they were playing a stage at the other side of the festival, so I had to watch Snoop (who rocked shit if you can over look the questionable lyrics!) since he was playing the stage right next to Sonic Youth who were to start playing as soon as his show ended.
Also got my Sonic t-shirt I bought at The 2006 Osheaga signed by everyone in the band except Steve Shelley (who wasn't around but I'll track him down next show!) thanks to my friend slipping me his VIP pass over the fence! Oh, by the way, I'm just finishing up (finally) a proper DVD version of the 2006 Oshega Sonic Youth set now that I should have ready to share sometime this month. I've spent a lot of time smoothing out any shakiness in the footage cuz I want the DVD to be as good as possible since they're my all-time favourite band. I mentioned to Lee that I videotaped them at both Osheaga shows and he was stoked and said he'd like to get copies! |

to greenlight: yes, I did trade that with you (thanks a lot!) and I shared a .wmv file here as well. The DVD I traded with you was created from the .wmv file so it's really compressed. This new DVD version will be a big upgrade because I know how to author DVDs properly now. I am also using the matrix audio recording done by Blaine and cloudscapes (thanks a lot!) for the sound this time so the audio is an upgrade as well. I will send it to you when it's done and I will also be seeding it on dimeadozen. I am also hoping to be able to get the Toronto Text Of Light show I promised you as well, done in the next year as well as the Sonic Youth in Toronto 2009 and Vancouver (Burnaby) 2009 DVDs. I'll message you for your address as soon as I'm ready to send out the 1st DVD. Cheers! |
