um. Well I think it's okay. But the album before it and the album after it are so much better than it. So. I don't know. I like the idea of the songs segueing into each other. And "Intro"/"Brave Men Run" is one of my favorite SY tracks. And "Halloween" is sexy as fuck. And certainly "DV69" is classic. But yeah I guess I don't listen to it as much as CONFUSION or EVOL becuz I find them to bar more solid LP's to my ears.

Bad Moon Rising is one of my least favorite SY albums...which still means that I really, really like it!

i almost consider it a concept album. the songs are drawn out, and flow perfectly into each other like the album is jsut one long song with many different movements. its a really really coherent and seamless album, and i think it deserves more credit. i think this album really shaped where they were going and definetly set the stage for evol.
maybe just outside my top 5

It's my joint favourite SY album. I'm Insane is my favourite track. The riff which is played towrads its end and throughout Justice is Might is one of my favourite riffs ever.

I think it's one of the best to listen to straight through (obviously because the tracks go right into one another), but it's more than that. Ghost Bitch is the highlight for me, especially when the drums come in. I'm not the biggest fan of Death Valley '69... I'd love to see it live though. The four bonus tracks really help out (Echo Canyon not so much, but it's pretty cool to listen to it sped up). Satan Is Boring always puzzled me, yet I've been digging it lately. Flower and Halloween kick ass.
^^AND I was going to say I liked it more than Daydream Nation too.

It's a pretty awesome album. I've actually started liking it more than I did before. Halloween, DV69, and Intro are some of the best SY songs ever. I love how the songs all flow into one another and the cover is pretty sweet too.

its better than any of their 90's albums, and the 2000's excluding murray street. i really like this period of sy. it seems like a nice mix of their more dissonant earlier stuff, and the sound that they developed in the late 80's with evol, sister and ddn. that and i associate bmr with the gila monster gig. i can't think of a concert where the music suited the setting more.

Bad Moon Rising is my favorite record by Sonic Youth, and actually my favorite record ever made by anyone. It took six months of frequent listens to me to realize its greatness, but once I understood it, I loved it to death

top 5 LP for me. sonic youth fantasticity. The fucking greatest skronkfest around. Bad Moon Rising is so fucking great. That and daydream nation are my two favorite SONIC YOUTH albums, with daydream in the lead
Bad Moon Rising may be their most TIMELES album, for I feel it will stil shock and astound twenty years from now, just as it still does today, even though it is nearly 25 years old right?\ Truly a scary scary album. Love it so muich. SO I HAD TO HIT IT! HIT IT!!!!!

I've decided this to be the favorite album of mine.
Haven't listened to it in a while though. |
