Comus, the psych-folk band who existed briefly in the early 70s are to return for a festival show in Sweden in March. The band who split in 1972 after releasing their debut album 'First Utterance' in 1971, have been persuaded to reunite and play after an absence of 33 years by Comus fan and festival organiser Stefan Dimle. The band are set to play the Melloboat Festival aboard a passenger liner that sails between Stockholm and Helsinki on the 8, 9 and 10th March. Festival headliners Opeth are huge fans of Comus and have previously used Comus lyrics as part of their own album and song titles. Original Comus members Roger Wooton, Glenn Goring, Andy Hellaby, Colin Pearson and Bobbie Watson will be joined by The Colins of Paradise's multi-instrumentalist Jon Seagroatt as the sixth member. http://www.uncut.co.uk/news/comus/news/10873 |

They are working on a new album.
"... The point I'm trying to get back to, is post-First Utterance, but before anything else. Mid-71, and what we're working on is the album that would have been Second Utterance." -Roger Wooton Wire, June I don't know what to think of it. |

I think there's a sense of Comus not getting their dues as well. I'm sure there's a Les Rallizes Denude reformation sometime soon. And I for one would support a Principal Edwards Magical Theatre revival.

I'm not certian that it even makes sense to talk about a Les Rallizes Denudes reformation. I mean as a band they're really just whoever Mizutani could get to stand there and lay down the same psych groove for him to freak out over for twenty minutes right? A reformation would really just be him coming down from the mountain and actually gigging again in some form. Not that that wouldn't be totally awesome (it would). He'd obviously just play the same songs though...
