Let's fire it up.
The only 2014 album I've heard so far is Actress' Ghettoville and it's fucking amazing.

Big Up - 18 Hours Of Static is the first album I'm aware of being released next week.

New Talib Kweli, "Gravitas", and the new Silver Mount Zion (and tra la la whatever). Both pretty goddamn awesome.

Ghettoville is fantastic. Addison Groove and The Jaydes also have great forthcoming records.
My favourite release so far is Twwth's next EP though - in my opinion, this 130BPM mix of grime and UK Funky (mostly) is the most interesting sound going on in electronic music at the moment. Looking forward to Wen's album on that tip. |

These guys have been operating under the radar for a few years. Interesting to note their progression from a noise/heavy psych band to a more song orientated direction. Cool stuff.... https://soundcloud.com/firerecords/b...lling-down-the |

One of the better contemporary Australian bands in my opinion too. Maybe we will see a UK date at some point this year now they are signed to Fire.

indeed, which is really something considering how bizarrely fertile our scenes are right now, melbourne and brisbane in particular.

sunn o))) - la reh 012 [southern lord/ideologic organ] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bw44kaxzmwM (collab with ulver is also pretty good, seems a bit lacking in depth though for a proper sunn studio record) patten - estoile naiant [warp] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqt21LtJx6o helm - the hollow organ [pan] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-SVqsSPhzU thug entrancer - death after life [software] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9gosKbP4_k christian fennesz has also just finished a new rekkid entiled 'bécs', and swans have their newie 'to be kind' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YCCeC_MyL0) coming out on mute in may which, judging by their shows earlier this year should be as monolithic as the seer. new album from stl ('at disconnected moments') on smallville is good too, really just what you would expect from dub techno in the 21st century. |

Mono will record their new album in April in the US, and it will be released towards the end of the year. Really looking forward to that one. They did release a single in December
and for RAWK? I would go for Retribution Gospel Choir

Wow, you have been killing this thread so far! I'm into Blank Realm and Untold and Sunn but a few of the others you mentioned are going to be at the top of my list for tonight's "Man Work's Gonna Eat Dick Tomorrow, Better Have Some New Music" downloading session. The more I listen to FUCK OFF GET FREE WE POUR LIGHT ON EVERYTHING the more I like it. A/Thee Silver Mount Zion/Mountain Reveries/Memorial Orchestra & Tra La La Band has been close to my heart since the start, but something about this album really works. It may be the vocals and instrumentals finally reconciling. I want to hear these songs played live. |
