Their album Grandeur of Hair came in the mail yesterday. They are definitely the best thing I've heard in long time.
Sunn0))) meets MBV meets Bardo Pond and shit... i.e. extremely profound sounding music. Are the other albums of theirs equivalent to this one? |

between the dead is mind fucking blowing, going from harsh noise, to drone to blissful feeback. spaceheater/perfect interior is much more dronier.
yes, they are amazing! |

totally glad people have checked that disc out.. it's one of my favorite releases to date that I've done with the label and i've gotten lots of good feedback on the project..
check out the CDR Goslings collab with Roxanne Jean Polise it's hopelessly out of print but i'd imagine some downloadable file is creeping around out there.. I'll be re-issuing this as a double CD in early spring along with a disc worth of new shit... should be really sweet. |

Between the Dead is the other album most like Grandeur of Hair, and Space Heater/Perfect Interior is equally awesome, but less song-oriented and more atmospheric. I'm still yet to hear that collaboration with Roxanne Jean Polise. Great band, the Goslings!

I'm obliged to thank dj rick for playing them on artforspastics some months back. If it wasn't for that particular show, I would've never found this band.

Glad to know I could be of some help....especially for a band that I seriously count as one of my absolute faves.

Great band. Their music is the perfect thing for when I want to make the house shake, but want something more uplifting than Sunn O)) or Black Boned Angel.

They've got a split 7" with Yellow Swans which is available to subcribers of the Not Not Fun "Bored Fortress" Singles Club series. The rest of the lineup is totally worthwhile, too.
Check it... http://www.notnotfun.com/ It probably won't be available for very long now that the first few splits have begun shipping.

Their side on that split 7" with Yellow Swans was excellent too.
Anyway, has anyone already heard the new one, Occasion? |
