i don't care about his affectless yuppies and have never managed to finish any of his books but i did watch, er, the rules of attraction i think it was, mostly because it was on cable and liked shannyn sossamon.

he is one of my favorite authors, american psycho is probably one of my all time favorite books (the film was atrocious) the humour of it and its amazing satire are fantastic. i need to read more of his stuff.

Here's part of a recent interview with BEE that I find interesting, disturbing, and somewhat germane:

JC: It's funny, at the reading last night I heard a girl behind me talking, and she was like, oh, Glamorama is my least favorite of his novels.

BEE: That's interesting, because at the reading last night I saw three guys from Long Island who looked like they were mechanics. They were wearing overalls and they looked kind of hickey and I thought, okay, they're gonna pull out their tattered copies of American Psycho, but no- they were all about Glamorama. They knew it by heart. They knew all of its secrets; they knew the code of Glamorama. They knew the secret of Bruce Reinhart, which was something that blew me away. They wanted certain quotes scrawled into their copies, and that was one of the most memorable things about last night.

What the hell is the secret of Bruce Reinhart? There's definitely something strange about the character, but the novel in itself is strange, so I haven't given much thought to him, until now.

I have only read american psycho, back when it came out. Several times actually.

I have not read anything else by him. My favorite parts are when he writes about homeslice's shitty music tastes!

They were asking him a lot of art gay questions, which he disarmingly and politely ridiculed. I never realized he had such a big female fanbase. Loads of them in the crowd, even an old grandma.
