I'm not much of a "lists guy",
but I thought this could be nice to share and hear opinions on it. It's taken from one of the few good "music magazines" (imo) released here in Berluscoland. I'm not familiar with a lot of this stuff, but I think I'll get around listening to a good bunch of theese in the next few weeks. So, it goes like this, it's not a proper "top 50", I'll scan the "disclaimer", perhaps porksarram could help translating this thing in proper english to let you guys understand the intentions... there's a short, nice review for each album, but I'll just go with the list: first "group" of 10: Glenn Branca The Ascension (99, 1980) Tony Conrad with Faust Outside the Dream Syndicate (Caroline, 1972) Jon Gibson Two Solo Pieces (Chatham Square, 1977) Philip Glass Music With Changing Parts (Chatham Square, 1973) Meredith Monk Dolmen Music (ECM, 1981) Mother Mallard's Portable Masterpiece Co. Fortunately, I've heard most of them... so there's only a few more I need to check out.
Love the Richard Youngs inclusion. |
