yeah, poor guy. he ruled.
this morning i was driging with my mom, so obviously shit music was on, but the crap radio she usually listens to was playing the shaft soundtrack in full. it was rad.

Hayes was quite the important figure. Everyone from Sam & Dave to Rachel Sweet owe a large chunk of their careers to him.

Honestly I hardly paid attention to him when he was around. Did you guys? I mean, can you say that you notice that "he's gone." Were you into his music and stuff?

Hot-buttered soul is a great record. I don't know if he's done other records that are as good, if that's the case any recommendation ?

The Issac Hayes Experience (the album after Hot Buttered Soul) is pretty great. Hillariously oversentimental, but amazing in many ways too. I Stand Accused just has to be heard.
Edit: Wow, total brain fart there. Had a stressful week. I meant to reccomend the Issac Hayes Movement. The Issac Hayes Experience does not exist.
