Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle gave us the increasingly-irritating Rufus Wainwright. Rufus has plenty of talent and charisma, but I wish he'd get off the over-travelled Liza Minelli-Barry Manilow "Camp" Highway at least once in a while. (Very rich coming from me, I know).
(His sister's v good though)

What the hell are you talking about? Beck (who's first name is actually spelled Bek by the way)'s father's last name was Campbell and his mother's last name was Hansen. So I'm pretty sure you're way off base. |

While I wouldn't call Frank Zappa "awesome", his sons are way less awesome musicians.

Off the top of my head, and with very little conviction, John Lennon --> Julian Lennon.

Ringo Starr / Zak Starkey (c'mon, the guy was in his dad's band's tribute band, he must be crap).
Marc Bolan / Rolan Bolan (see above) Bob Marley / too many little Marley's to mention (see both the above). |

Actually, I think Zak Starkey is technically a better drummer than Ringo. Ringo was stylish and rock steady but Zak has been able to adopt a lot of different styles over the years and has toured with The Who and Oasis and is very much in demand as a session drummer. His drumming with the Who is impressive.

Especially the last one. Tim Buckley was brilliant and branched out into more complex genres (jazz, etc.), but Jeff was absolutely capable of everything his dad did, and then some. |
