I know there's some other fans here, somewhere...

But, yeah, I am of the thought that Dog Star Man is probably the greatest "film" ever made. Anyone else agree?

You can watch some of it here:

I've probably watched this more than any other film ever. I've watched it silent a few times, but what I like to do (even though it's against Brakhage's "wishes") is to play music along to it. Playing Double Leopards are (self-promotion) Robe. along to this film and it takes on a whole new meaning. Really just amazing...

Also, it is the best movie ever to watch on drugs. Just sayin'.

I'm working my way through the Criterion Brakhage set and loving it...but couldn't get through dog star man. Not that I didn't enjoy it, i just heard it was his "narrative film" and i guess i was expecting more...direct or overt narrative. Still awesome though, and I'm sure I'll get through it knowing its not as narrative-y as i expected.

Oh, well, since you have By Brakhage.. lemme think... there's one on disc 2.. with leaves.. I really like that one. something about the god of forests.

WINDOW WATER MOVING BABY is one of the most insane things I've ever seen...

I really like lovesongs also.

Great collection.

Actually, somewhere out there, this foundation is working on a complete restoration/release of EVERYTHING BRAKHAGE HAS EVER DONE. That's like 400 films!

I saw Text of Light perform to Dog Star Man. That was over five years ago. I own By Brakhage, but I've only watched Dog Star Man once since. I will watch it again soon.
