Yeah, I watched it last week. Was pretty good, all things considered. Good performances. Wasn't as silly as most musician biopics are. There were things I didn't like here or there, but I don't see how it could've been much better. The musical performances were pretty spot-on. Also, loved the black and white.

Agreed. I mean, I tried to expect nothing. And that worked out well. Like you said, the musical aspect was really convincing (his dancing as well), so I was into it. And it also didnt try to paint him as a martyr or really do much else than be a fly on the wall. I thought it was (sad obviously, but) very worth seeing.

defintaly worth watching... much better than the book it was based on, debbie curtis's book "touching from a distance" that is a pretty poor read and fairly one sided obviously!
film is great i loved the cinematography of it. |

Yeah that's a great film. The only thing I do not like is that there's no suspense: I guessed the end when the film began. Like when I saw Titanic actually. (just kidding of course)

haha.
Funniest line in the movie is after he has that attack on stage, and he's laying on the couch backstage and someone says to him "well, it could be worse. You could be the singer for The Fall." |

What makes it funnier is that the guy who said that played Mark E. Smith in a deleted scene in 24 Hour Party People.

Eh. It's alright. Worth seeing once but probably nothing you'd ever watch again.

I still cant help thinking that Curtis was portrayed to seem a lot "nicer" in the film, when I thought he was more cuntish in reality. That aside, I thought it was a great film.

I saw that movie some weeks ago and was really impressed by its style and well catched atmosphere of the band, as far as I can tell

You think? I don't really know much about his personality, other than well, the film (which of course was based on the book by his wife--so it's one view). So yeah. I don't know what to think. |

no problem.
Just look up whatever and it links you to pages that stream full movies. I think for control in particular you can download the 5 video files (it's broken up) and then burn 'em to dvd as chapter stops or wahtever if you don't want to watch on your computer. Pretty convenient. Great site, lots of weird stuff on there actually. |
