hello. i haven't posted in a long time, but i'm moving to sheffield (literally right now - i'm on the train) and so will have no life once again and so will most likely be posting on here a lot more.......

anyone know any fun stuff to do in sheffield? i know nobody and i've only been to the city twice before, once for an open day and once to househunt, so i haven't seen much of the place.

well i dont want to be the bearer of bad news but there is very little in the way of anything going in sheffield bar a few events now and again. check out the singing knives folks: http://www.singingknivesrecords.co.uk/gigs.html they are your best bet for shows etc.

the main thing i remember about sheffield was the train station closing down at about 10.30 and being trapped with no way out, no way out!

thanks jon boy - i guess there isn't that much going on here (i was spoilt growing up in london). there's a zine fair on sunday so i'm gonna go to that see if i can make some friends...

agreed thats not a bad place to go. i remember the cricketers arms was where a few shows happened, its right next to bramall lane (sheffield utd fc) if you need a reference point. the other thing i will say is dont let the language barrier get you down, half my family is from that part of the world and i dont know what the hell they are saying.

i don't know anything about sheffield.

i figured since the board is so dead i could post something anyway.

even though i really know nothing of the subject.

maybe i could say "i don't know shit about sheffield, but i know about moving around a lot."

in that case i'd suggest not buying too much stuff so the return to london is easier.

but anyway sheffield, what is that? an old steel town? (the name sounds like it). and why are you moving? did you find a cheap painting studio there or what? are you going to school?

wait, you were studying archaeology i think-- are you going to dig some keltic ruins or something?

i'm doing an MA here, so i'm super poor, just had a job interview today for a company that does mail order electronic cigarettes, they are pretty weird, i got some free samples haha! its kewl here anyway, i found a nice rehearsal space type thing where they put shows on and met some people, so now i at least know a coupla people here.....

damn, i could use an electronic cigarette. i miss smoking. do they fuck up your lungs?

i've considered getting on the nicotine patch for purely neurological reasons.
