This lady had a bunch of records for 50 cents a piece, and I figured, why be picky? So instead of getting 2 like I probably would have, I picked up eight.

How'd I do? I have a feeling I'm only going to like the first two and hate everything else, because the other stuff is mostly older compositions arranged for the synth, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Max Neuhausen- Electronics and Percussion I'm listening to this right now and I'm digging it.

New Electronic Music from the Leaders of the Avant-Garde:
John Cage- Variations II (performed by David Tudor)
Milton Babbitt- Ensembles For Synthesizer
Henri Pousseur- Trois Visages de Liege

Tomita- Firebird

Tomita- The Planets

Tomita- The Bermuda Triangle

Ryo Kawasaki- Juice

Lutoslawski Berkely Bedford Peter Pears London Sinfonietta Conducted by the Composers

Walter Carlos- By Request

Everything You Always Wanted To Hear on the Moog

Scriabin/Nemtin Universe

If you don't want them, I'll take the Cage, Neuhausen & Lutoslawski off your hands.

Nah, those are the ones I think I'll definitely be keeping.

That Ryo Kawasaki album is apparently worth about 15 bucks though. And it's jazz + synths. So I can pay off my 5 dollars spent with that one album if I ebay it I guess. Haha.

The Tomita ones, though I've yet to listen to them, I can see myself promptly getting rid of as well. Also the Walter Carlos I'm assuming I'll hate.

The couple at the flea market I got them from apparently have a whole bunch of albums from the husband's father, who was a music critic for the Pittsburgh Press. They'll be at the same flea market next month, and I'm giving serious consideration to buying everything they have. Everything is in really good condition, probably only listened to once or twice, and there are a lot of promo copies.

Oh, I also picked up a mono copy of LSO doing the Rite of Spring. I've got another copy by some other orchestra, but I figured why not have two?

I have four copies of the Rites of Spring, and I still don't think I've got the one I want. I shan't list the other multiple conductor things I've got.

It's a shame you don't want to shift them. I'd really like anything that's Tudor plays Cage, as the mark-up for collectors getting them to the UK tends to be absurd. I'm half-tempted by the Tomita Planets as well, but not enought to express an interest on-the-line.

I'm listening to the David Tudor performance now.

My Rite of Springs:

Egene Goosens in mono (yet to listen to)
Jascha Horenstein

The Ryo Kawasaki album makes me want to puke.

Tomita's stuff (I'm listening to his version of Night on Bald Mountain) is kind of novel, but enjoyable in a kitsch sort of way.
