anyone seen this documentary film by hans fjellestad? i abught the dvd and really enjoyed it, some fascinating interviews with the man, its really interesting hearing him talk about his theories on synthesis and the role of the player in electronic music. however, i cant help feel that the film focused to much on british prog musicians such as ELP and rick wakeman- it wouldve been nice to see more of the avant garde sound artists using synthesizers before they became enveloped into the language of popular music. its also a shame wendy carlos refused to be interviewed for the film, as she really made moog, and synthesizers in general, a household name.

its good, but not without its flaws. the dvd has some good extras, such as live performances, and a demo of a virtual minimoog.

I liked it, but I wish they went more in depth about Moog's creations: details about the differences between the models of synths etc. I guess what I mean is a little more tech talk.
Has anybody seen that 70's beer commercial in the bonus features? That is worth the price alone! |

Moog rhymes with rogue. Though I used to say it like a cow because I didn't know any better.

My dad's mid-life crisis was to buy a mini-moog voyager.
It's blonde and it is amazing. |

That movie is pretty good. DJ Shadow is in it. If you really needed to get your vocoder on check out the How to wreck a Nice Beach a new book on the voocder.
