A pointless question I know, but it came to me last night in a moment of, well, pointlessness, I suppose.

Can anyone name me a band whose members are all techncally very gifted, but who don't play well together, who all too often just do "enough" and succeed on that basis, and who just about everyone except their devoted fans hates?

Hmm, I'm having the same problem. I'm looking for a band that have had their moments of glory in the past, and have had a bit of a reputation as a neutral's favourite for their grass roots attitude and 'attractive' style. But more often than not are complete poo. |

new england patriots=metallica circa ride the lightning to black alblum
huge, monolithic, unstoppable, that is up untill the big game arrives and they crumble under the pressure (superbowl loss to giants=emergence of alternative rock and metallicas release of black alblum).

Anyone know of a band that have lost some of their key members, but still are finding a way to make some good efforts that still make them a relevant band in the scheme of things?

Some band that doesn't exist, since team sports are completely fucking stupid.

Basketball/Classic Rock: 90s Bulls=Zeppelin: Fluid, talented--yet each component compliments the other
Early 90s Pistons=GnR: Crazy successful but a little too crazy to keep it all together. Too strong of personalities 80s Celtics=Allman Bros Band: Only interesting if you understand the technical aspects of basketball/guitar 80s Lakers=Rolling Stones: A lot of show with the talent and innovation to back it up. |
