FUCK it stinks and last night when I left it had not opened fully yet. I could not get the rotten flesh smell out of my nose until this morning.
wrote about it on -FUPPETS- The people there had bottles of Vicks vap-o-rub for when it does open fully. The first two hours are NOXIOUS. took a short movie clip, lets you see how big it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMvwT...layer_embedded

I have a very strict rule about NOT smelling stuff that I'm told is bad.
ie: "this fish smells rotten...smell it." "NO", "what's that spot on the carpet? smell it." "NO", "ewwww smell my finger." "NO", "let's go to houston and smell the corpse flower. it takes a full day to get the smell out of yr nose." "NO". so far, this rule serves me well. ps: is there a death metal band named after this flower, and if not, why not??? |

since its a museum of natural science in Texas, do their other displays have disclaimer notices declaring evolution is just a theory and that sort of thing?

Nope. But they do have a "Hall of Petroleum" !!!
The oil industry ponied up lots of dough for the museum when it was first being built so there is a huge display in the basement for kids to learn all about the "oil industry" ha!
