Apart from Dwars, De Avonden is another cool VPRO radio program. They often (used to?) have interesting interviews/specials but their site is harder to navigate if you don't understand Dutch.
Here's an interesting radio interview(!) with Dave Nuss and Keith Connelly from NNCK from autumn 2003 http://www.vpro.nl/programma/deavond...edia/14993316/ (lasts about 40 minutes, starts after about 9 minutes in. it's pretty much all in English with a few translations/summaries in dutch) |

Oooh, thanks for the nnck interview link. Don't think I've even read any print interviews with them. Listening to it now, pretty interesting.

Gosh, there's even some music in there that didn't make it onto the Dutch Money LP. Anyway to rip the stream and convert it to MP3?

In the meantime....this interview and the music totally won me over. When you win me over i'm totally yours.Words never made such clear sense in the context of music and the music itself never made anymore sense than that.Thankyouthankyou and THANK YOU pokkeherrie!!!

Yes. It was odd. Even though I don't think I have read or heard any NNCK interviews I could have predicted that they would have said the things they did I think.

The relaxed manner in which they explained their music and why it should have a place in this world is a lesson i have absorbed with great joy.You rarely come accross musicians so relaxed but focused and with a penchant for ultimately delivering joy rather than just giving their own aggravating account of things. They are,so to speak, pure artists.People who have it in them and share it with us.They know what they are doing and they are doing it well. It's ever so simple when you have the talent to back your words up,innit?

The music is the music.I just have a penchant for contextualizing everything i listen to and i understand that's something i have to deal with but that's just me.The way you describes listening to music is the most correct so far.

Ummm......did anyone know My Cat Is An Alien has a new 2019 release???
Spiritual Noise Vol. 2 ......why must the “art edition cassette” only come with a LP purchase? |
