I'm looking for some really deep and lush digital reverb. Had an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail that just wasn't cutting it. Any suggestions?

just get a boss one. they are relatively cheap and do the job. if you have the money then get a line 6 dl4 or a bodd loop pedal. i also believe line 6 has a new version out but thats probably quite pricey.

Play a note. Wait up to a second. Play it again, quieter. Repeat. Et voila! No need for expensive 'reverb' pedals.

I have these old silvertone amps from the 60s that have awesome reverb. My dad thinks we should sell them, since they go for like $500 apiece these days.

How's the reverb on this one?
I know it doubles as a reverb. As long as the reverb is of great quality I'm really considering getting rid of my current delay and adding this to my pedalboard. |

I have an original Roland Space Echo (the tape one), and this new one is a decent substitute if you can't have the real thing.
I have friends who own both and are happy with the new simulator. |

A friend has a digitech reverb and it does the job, should be cheap too.

I don't know, I'm happy with the holy grail. The only issues I've had with it are bad wiring, like cutting the volume in half...haha

I think the Tech 21 Boost R.V.B is a better option than the Boss and the EHX (which I've got and, like you, don't really like) mostly because the Tech 21 boosts the signal so you don't get the same level of volume drop that you get with the other two.
Another option is the Malekko Spring Chicken which is about the same price as the Tech21, at around $150. Far more expensive (they're going for between £250-300 in the UK) but meant to be the dogs bollocks is the T Rex Room-Mate. It's a digital/analogue hybrid which includes a valve in its circuit. Silly money but I linked it just so you could compare. |

I would buy the original roland space echo if I had a piano or a cello. Before I get the boss simulator I will have to sit down with it for a good long while before I commit to buy it

if you are cashed up i would buy a pcm96surround and midi up a footswitch, cos mostly reverb pedals suck balls.

I have a 68 sears/silvertone that may be the best sounding amp I've ever used. But the reverb broke and it's irrepreble

The reverb broke on one of mine, but I took it to a place where they knew how to replace vacuum tubes, and they fixed it. Mine are 60's Sears/Silvertones, too. |

I dug up this buried thread.
I never had a big problem with the holy grail, even tho it took away some of the tone of the original signal...I liked the sound. But now it's just cutting out all the time, like while I'm fucking playing...at gigs...my guitar just shuts off...it used to be only when I switched, then it was only if I kicked the pedal and it moved, now it's randomly. How's the spring chicken? That malekko pedal looked the best out of the ones listed, is it reliable? |

I always look to EHX first for the solution for things I want. Their stuff just seems to vibe very well with me.
Personally I want the Holiest Grail, because it goes way beyond your typical reverb and does things that are far more interesting, like resonator sounds and shit. But if you don't like the Holy Grail, I'd look at the Digitech digiverb or the Line 6 one. I've heard nothing but bad things about the boss ones. Or you could always go for a Behringer. |
