May this be a thread to post and discuss content related to Thought Forms (Charlie Romijn, Guy Metcalfe and Deej Dhariwal) and other projects with not many degrees of separation (Silver Stairs of Ketchikan, Solar Flares, Deej Dhariwal's solo work, Lava Thief, Invada Records, etc...). There's a new video out for "Landing" (off their latest album, "Ghost Mountain"), created in a week by Charlie with free editing software and iphone: http://vimeo.com/77878081 |

Damn it, more bands from SYG that I don't listen too. It seems as my music collection keeps growing that I've finally reached a maximum threshold for absorption. I can't really get that into new records or bands anymore, my brain simply doesn't have enough room to remember any more new lyrics or music. It seemed before that there was infinite storage, but over the past 4 or 5 years I've let so many new records and bands go off my radar that it is almost embarrassing, and yet, oddly, I don't have the slightest regret.

Thought Forms are one of the better bands in the UK, for my money. I've seen them quite a few times, from way back when they were support acts on crappy Wednesday door split shows (5 years maybe?) Have also played with them a few times - super-generous and caring people and insanely 'into' music in a way most jaded musos aren't. Live, they get better every time.
SSOK is amazing, and YOU NEED TO DO MORE OF IT CHARLIE (if you're reading).

New Thought Forms/Esben And The Witch split 12" coming up in April:
"We're very happy to be releasing a split with a band we really love, Esben and the Witch. Invada Records will be releasing the split album on April 7th on 12" vinyl and digital formats. The entire record comes in at 32 minutes long and features 4 new Thought Forms tracks; 1) Your Bones 2) Sound Of Violence 3) For The Moving Stars 4) Silver Kiss Here's what Invada say : Invada Records is pleased to announce the release of a split EP between Brighton post-punk post-rockers Esben and the Witch and elemental Bristol fuzz-peddlers Thought Forms, due for release on April 7th. The split comes off the back of critically lauded long-players from both acts last year, with Esben releasing 'Wash the Sins Not Only The Face' and Thought Forms second album, 'Ghost Mountain'. The release recalls the classic era of split singles in the US underground – think of those heady early Sub Pop days, where you’d get Mudhoney and Sonic Youth covering one another on either side of a 7”. In other words: record collector heaven. Both bands will be touring together in the UK, Europe, and the U.S around the time of release to promote this split".

Lots of stuff going on at the Thought Forms camp: new song, "The Sound of Violence", is now available for streaming, there's tour dates announced for the UK (as support for 65daysofstatic), there's a new split with Esben and the Witch coming up sometime soon as well as an essential new release by Charlie's label, Lava Thief; and a discount of 20% on any purchase (whether digital or physical) from their Bandcamp page. Details about all this are on their latest newsletter:

In case anyone hasn't seen Thought Forms' Nine Volt Sessions, that's another remarkable video documentation as well: http://youtu.be/SJuCvFgAgic It seems it hasn't been posted here in this thread yet, but Stu taped them opening for Chelsea Light Moving last year, and the audio can be downloaded from his blog in .MP3 and .FLAC: http://tapewormstu.blogspot.mx/2013/...013-06-17.html
