has anyone seen them live? i have a chance to see them on their tour this fall, but two tix will cost me $92.60. it's worth it, right? i love me some butthole action, but nearly $100. damn. i know their shows are loud, i love loud. and gibys the best. i know i will regret it if i don't go. i think i just talked/typed myself the answer to this threads question. sorry. discuss buttholes.
my fav album is most def independent worm saloon with hairway to steven next. |

I love the buttholes and have seen them twice and both times were bizarre although only one time was it scary but it was great. I have NO idea what they sound like now man. I would not pay that much unless I knew that they were rockin in recent concerts. look up some reviews and see if they are rockin.
take me mexican caravan down to down to the rio grande take me to that miguel town where I can score some of that heroin brown....

DO IT. that's a pretty steep price for two tix, but it's worth it!
I caught the first of the "reunion" shows in dallas, and although the surfers complained the sound wasn't good, I enjoyed it. they played every song that I wanted them to but P.S.Y. (and shit, that's a long song). I'm not sure I could pick a favorite album. I love them ALL (yeah, even Pioughd). although, After the Astronaut > Weird Revolution. also...I think people give Gibby way too much fucking credit. Paul is the resident genius (Carny's seemingly never-to-be-released album is better than anything the Surfer's have done in decades). Quote:

I was just looking on ebay when I came across this. Behold... 2nd hand butthole surfers promotional bog roll! I have to admit that this product appeals to me, however, I fear it would too quickly disappear in this house.

Saw them at a summer festival in the 90's and then again last year in a club... I went there for the opening acts (The Heads and The Wooden Shjips).
They were crap both times. I'll go as far as declaring last year's gig as the worst I've seen in all of 2008... out of 70(!) live shows i went to!!! |
